Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is coming to the US in June for $159

Samsung has officially announced two tablets: the Galaxy Tab S7 FE and the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. The company has not yet confirmed US pricing or availability for the Tab S7 FE, but in the UK the tablet will cost £589 or £629, depending on whether you choose 64GB or 128GB storage, and is expected to launch on June 18th. . Meanwhile, the Tab A7 Lite is a smaller and cheaper model. Starting at $159 in the US, which will be released on June 10th. (Starting at £149 in the UK, launches June 18th.)

There’s not much we don’t know about the Galaxy Tab S7 FE, as most of the specs were revealed on the German product page earlier this week. It has a large 12.4-inch 2560 x 1600 LCD display, an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. A neat bonus is that it comes with one of Samsung’s S Pen styluses in the box for note-taking and sketching purposes.

Samsung’s press release doesn’t exactly say more than that the processor powering the Tab S7 FE is an octa-core model, but it has previously been reported to have a Snapdragon 750G. It has a 10,090mAh battery that can quickly charge up to 45W, with a choice of 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage (expandable up to 1TB with microSD). Wi-Fi only, LTE and 5G models are available, and the Tab S7 FE is available in black, silver, green and pink.

Meanwhile, the cheaper Galaxy Tab A7 Lite has a screen size of 8.7 inches and a resolution of 1340 x 800. There is still an 8-megapixel camera on the back, but the selfie camera is only 2 megapixels. Previous reports have pinned the processor to the MediaTek MT8768, which is paired with a 5,100mAh battery and 3GB RAM and 32GB storage or 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Wi-Fi only and LTE models are available, and color options include gray and silver.

Both of these Android 11 tablets are designed to be cheaper than last year’s Tab S7 and Tab A7, so the modest specs shouldn’t surprise you too much. If you need last year’s tablet, it will be a decent device for media consumption, even if it doesn’t hit with devices like the iPad Pro when it comes to productivity.
